Datacentre

Bandwidth
A 20 Mb lines with UUNET one 15 Mb line via NTL and one 8 Mb line with XO. A 100 MB network using the reliability and high performance of Cisco hardware. Cisco are the world leaders in network hardware.

Power
A 400 KVA dedicated electricity supply designed and installed to meet diverse electrical needs. This ensures that all power to the servers is supplied at a smooth rate.

Network
Connections from UUNET, NTL, XO and Easynet. These connections are operated with BGP4 which gives a high level of redundancy.

The network is primarily based on Cisco equipment including six high power Cisco routers

Fire Protection
Should a fire break out in the data centre then a FM200 Fire Suppression System will be triggered, in seconds FM200 gas will be released into the room extinguishing the fire. The gas is heavier than oxygen so it removes it from the room starving the fire and extinguishing it in seconds.

High Security
The data centre was constructed with security in mind, access to the data centre is restricted by swipe card access. It is also monitored by CCTV at all times.

The data centre is air tight, kept clean and cool to minimise risk of fire.
